Château Dufresne - Oscar et Marius Dufresne Visionnaires de Maisonneuve - Ouvert du mercredi au jeudi
Dream beautiful. Dream big
Oscar and Marius Dufresne Visionaries of Maisonneuve
At any time

The former billiard room of Oscar Dufresne’s residence is now highlighted. The symbolic importance of such a room in a private residence underlines the social status of its owner and his belonging to the French-speaking bourgeoisie. A multimedia device projected on a pool table from the 1930s tells the story of the importance of the Dufresne brothers, two visionaries who transformed the ancient town of Maisonneuve. Their ideas lived up to their century!

In a lively and playful way, the narration is based on the research of distinguished historian Paul-André Linteau while special effects participate in the animation of archive images. By adding to the historic interiors of Château Dufresne, this partial renewal project of the permanent exhibition also made it possible to rehabilitate the glass roofs of this magnificent space, including the restoration of an original stained glass window found in the basements of the museum. A work by master glassmaker Guido Nincheri.
